First Post!

OK, I got the idea to give blogging another try.  I'm not doing this because I think I have anything great to add to the public conversation, but because I'd like to keep some sort of daily diary for myself and my family.  Time passes so quickly that I think now is as good a time as any to record daily thoughts, events, etc so we can look back on them some years down the road.
